In depth

Verdict

James Given has his string in good form so it could be worth chancing Cyflymder in this contest; the list of dangers is headed by Diddums and Noverre To Go. This colt showed plenty of promise on his debut when he finished in mid-division at Pontefract. He should come on plenty for the experience and he could be the value in the race, especially as the yard are firing at present. Diddums is another who showed up well on his racecourse bow to chase home Blown It at Wolverhampton. That was a good effort, but we are prepared to look elsewhere today in this more competitive contest. On the plus side, he does have a good draw and if he can build on his debut run then he should go close. Tom Dascombe has done really well with his 2-year-olds this season so Noverre To Go has to be respected on his racecourse debut, and a market check is advised. Dr Smart finished well down the field in the Chesham Stakes at Ascot, but he will find this much easier and he does have a good draw. However, a chance is taken on Cyflymder who is put forward as the pick.
