In depth
Verdict
Ceresfield returned to winning ways at Musselburgh last month but, with his main danger falling at the last, Richard Guest's gelding looks harshly treated off a 6lb higher mark and preference is for White Dove, who gets the verdict over Sound of Cheers. The last mentioned is 6lbs higher than when scoring at Catterick two starts ago and struggled off his new mark at Sedgefield last time. Peter Beaumont's Ocean Dancer is probably open to further improvement than most and is another worthy of a mention, along with the consistent Polish Pilot but the vote goes to White Dove. The Ian Williams-trained mare does not have many miles on the clock and made a winning start to her chasing career when landing a handicap at Hereford last month. A 4lb rise for that seems perfectly fair and she is taken to follow up.
