In depth
Verdict
A tough handicap that can go to Mexican Pete, who, despite being upped 3lb for a good second here last month, makes more appeal at the weights than Solo Flight and Dovedon Hero, who look handicapped up to their best at the moment. However, this trio will not have it all their own way and the likes of Barman and Loves Travelling also have to be considered as they come into the race representing yards that are doing well at the present time. They should both be shortlisted as dangers if money arrives to support their claims. Night Sight is another that holds claims at the weights as well and his course record of three previous wins speaks for itself. However, he is on a long losing sequence and is not for the feint hearted in this company. Therefore we return to Mexican Pete as the one to be on today as he has shaped as if he is back to something like his best after a handful of outings this term. Lisa Jones is a positive booking for the four-year-old and he has everything in place to make a bold bid today.
