In depth

Verdict

Burj Nahar won his first two starts but has gone backwards since though Frankie still prefers him to Janood. Chester winner Jutland is another struggling for form and Total Command has been beaten out of sight on his last four starts. The much criticized ground at York for the Ebor meeting may explain Club Oceanic's below-par effort last time as he won three times on a faster surface earlier in the year, while Sandown winner Chain Lightning is not easily ignored off his current mark. PRINCE OF JOHANNE began the season with a double and it's tempting to think the handicapper has him in his grip now. But Tom Tate's charge hasn't been beaten far in much better company recently and is given another chance here.
