    Verdict

WAITER'S DREAM, as low as 33/1 for the 2,000 Guineas, is fancied to win again. Brian Meehan's colt impressed at York when winning the Acomb Stakes and his form since tackling slightly slower ground has stepped up a level. This looks a more competitive race but he has lots in his favour. Saamidd made a grand impression at Newbury when scooting seven lengths clear of Yair Hill and this exciting prospect has all the big race entries, and currently trades as low as 20/1 favourite for the Derby. Approve has two Group victories to his name, including the Gimcrack at York last month. He's often been underestimated but the feeling is that he might be vulnerable over this new trip with his 3lb penalty. Karam Albaari sprang a surprise at Kempton, but looks likely to be outclassed here unless the rain comes, whilst Waltz Darling has come up short in similar races this summer.
