      Verdict

      Sir Michael Stoute runs two though defections at Leicester left Sorrel with an easier task and she landed the odds in a lower grade race with the minimum of fuss. Stablemate Almareekh has leading claims having landed a hat-trick with a five-length victory at Salisbury for which she’s been raised 8lb. She looks more progressive than both Frankel's Storm and Sweet Celebration but a chance is taken on ALBAFLORA. A runner-up in the Musidora at York before finding the competition too hot in the Group 2 Galtres Stakes at the same track, Ralph Beckett’s filly should find life easier now handicapping and is taken to land the opener.
