In depth

Verdict

MUAY THAI steps up in trip but was doing his best work at the finish when beaten less than a length over 6f at Ascot on his debut. The Hannon colt should go close again with normal progress and makes more appeal than Sandown fifth Tawaareq. Of the newcomers, Taravara is a €300,000 half-brother to a Listed winner and stablemate Cordouan cost £105,000 at the breeze-ups in July. Tromso is related to a host of winners including the smart Koncheck and is preferred to Crossford and John Leeper.
