Verdict

STONEHAM has the impost of topweight but deservedly so and has every chance if remaining at the level of his latest run when a fine fourth in a highly competitive staying handicap in Musselburgh. He stays this trip well, handles good ground and has gone well for inexperienced pilots on a number of occasions. Waiting For Richie also appeals as an up-and-coming sort with only a handful of starts in the book and looks likely to appreciate this first attempt at 2m after a career-best effort last time at York over a couple of furlongs less. Tempuran hacked up last time but in a lesser contest over a shorter trip and is clearly in good form, whilst the consistent Wordiness and recent hurdles winner, Three Colours Red, are others to consider.
