Verdict
Aljamaaheer would be one of the class acts in this having finished third in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in June. He's won over 1m so the extra furlong is no problem but he was well adrift of GREGORIAN in the July Cup on his next start. The latter came within inches of landing the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury last month and should go one better today, though introducing a note of caution - he was only third when favourite for this 12 months ago. Ansgar had Professor behind when winning a Group 3 at Goodwood last month and should confirm that form while Cable Bay is sure to have benefited from his run at York, though was behind That Is The Spirit that day.
