Verdict

In a field of very moderate runners, Captains Table gets the TEAMtalk vote. This nine-year-old has only raced twice so far, finishing just 10-lengths sixth to Lone Soldier over fences at Worcester in June 2001 before earning second place to Bow Strada on his reappearance at Leicester on 18 November. He will have needed that run and he has the measure over these inmates. Of the rest, Umbrella Man would have an each-way chance. The Henrietta Knight-trained six-year-old made some progress over hurdles last season, but looked a better chaser in the making on his debut over fences at Huntingdon recently. He should have come on for that first experience and he his fancied by his stable to do better. Shannon Quest showed some promise when finishing a close second over fences at Folkestone in May - he hasn't run since then, but should be in the first three. The rest are best watched for signs of improvement.
