Verdict
A disappointing turnout for a Grade 2. Starchitect turns up here instead of Cheltenham and is defending an unbeaten record after victories at Bangor and Aintree. L'Aigle Royal wasn't disgraced at this level at Cheltenham after winning at Sedgefield but more interesting is another French import, PEACE AND CO. He beat a subsequent winner at Clarefontaine in June and Nicky Henderson is sure to find further improvement over the winter. Marracudja needs to rediscover his best form while Officer Drivel has a lot more on his plate than when winning a maiden at Wetherby.
