Verdict

Grand Voyage won at Ayr in November and has been running better than form figures suggest in subsequent starts. Petty Cash completed a double over timber on soft ground at this time a year ago and started a short-priced favourite for his chasing bow at Bangor in November but fell when in contention at the ninth. Winning point-to-pointer and hurdler STRIKING OUT was only beaten a neck on his chasing bow at Ludlow and ran well enough on his next start at Hereford to suggest he can get off the mark over fences, though Son Of The Somme is incredibly consistent having won twice and been placed six times in his last eight starts so it will be a surprise if he's not in contention again.
