In depth
Verdict
Love In Seattle is sure to make this a good gallop and might just be able to repel all challengers, chief among which might be Atlantic Ace, Devant, Obrigado and Langford. Lightly-raced, the Mark Johnston-trained selection is clearly on the upgrade based on his improved effort to win a similar race at Musselburgh last time. With this track sure to suit him better, he can make a bold bid to win again. In fairness, many of the others are very closely matched but Atlantic Ace is always capable of running well at this level, and Devant has a shout if getting back to the level of form that saw him win at Newmarket last July. Johannian's star has fallen markedly since his heady 2002 days, but the consistent Langford is entitled to be improving and it would be no surprise to see him go well. Obrigado was always expected to make up into a better four-year-old, so put him on your shortlist, and Topton, one of only two course winners in the line-up, is entitled to respect if on top of his game. Morning Glory is lightly raced and open to improvement but has a bit to prove overall. Overall, then, in what is a tricky race to solve, we will opt for Love In Seattle.
