Verdict
Not much evidence to go on, so it might be prudent to stick with the proven formula of Godolphin's preferred runners in races of this nature and side with Ballinteni as he bids to get off the mark at the first time of asking. Kingdom Of Dreams - a 300,000gns purchase - makes plenty of appeal on pedigree and, along with Cashier and Dinner Date, is worth short-listing as one of the main dangers. Being by Saddler's Wells, it is safe to assume that Sir Michael Stoute's charge will appreciate the anticipated going and, as he is in the same boat as many, his lack of experience is not as big a barrier as it could have been. However, the fact that Kieren Fallon is booked to ride stablemate Dinner Date does sound a few alarm bells and he may be best watched this afternoon. The last mentioned is a half-brother to the useful Lord Mayor, who has not really progressed as well as expected after stepping out of handicap company. The fact that it took him a couple of outings to get off the mark suggests that the same build up may apply with his sibling and Fallon's mount may just need more time. Cashier has an interesting pedigree, in that he is related to several juvenile winners; all of which held their own as they progressed in trip. John Gosden has a good strike-rate with his two-year-olds this season and a positive move in the betting will be dangerous to ignore this time. However, not many can live with the 28% haul produced by Godolphin's two-year-olds this season and, as they had a choice of three impeccably bred individuals to choose from at the overnight stage, we trust they have chosen right with Ballinteni here.
