Verdict

RUSSIAN SPIRIT is likely to be a warm order to see off Klynch and Merry Diva. Michael Jarvis' representative made all to take a six furlong maiden under similar conditions and if the handicapper hasn't got his sums right, he can make it count tonight. Klynch has no issues in relation to the ground as he dotted up under testing conditions at Haydock. Whether there can be a repeat under a penalty seems a different issue entirely. Merry Diva looks to still be progressing. She could give our selection an early pace duel and as a daughter of Bahamian Bounty, there is a fair chance that she'll be able to handle conditions. Eric Alston's team seem to be coming back into form so watch the market with regard to Toledo Gold. A winning juvenile at Redcar, there have been two likeable efforts in defeat this term. Captain Scooby is tried in a first time visor. Spiritofthewest has been a tad disappointing whilst of the remainder, Tagula Breeze has started to come down the weights and it is fascinating that Ian McInnes has elected to put the cheekpieces on for the first time. A typically competitive Northern sprint but for the winner, we head south for Russian Spirit.
