        Verdict

        The last three winners have gone on to land the 2000 Guineas and two of them were trained by Aidan O’Brien. The latter is represented by WEMBLEY (NAP) this time and he gets the vote to come good at this level having found one too good in both the National Stakes at the Curragh and the Dewhurst at Newmarket a fortnight ago. He finished in front of a Joseph O’Brien favourite last time and the latter runs Champagne Stakes third State Of Rest but One Ruler looks a bigger threat. The Godolphin colt landed a Group 3 at Headquarters in good style with Megallan back in fourth and can confirm running. Listed winner Cobh came up short in the Royal Lodge at Newmarket while King Vega steps up in trip for last year’s winning yard having finished runner-up in the Solario at Sandown. Group 2 winner Mac Swiney will appreciate any further rain and is preferred of the remainder.
