Verdict

We Are The World won at Wolverhampton last month but was well beaten off only a 2lb higher mark last time. Betjeman was beaten a length over a longer trip at Chelmsford recently and Glorious Army steps up in trip for his handicap debut along with Brisk Tempo. Of those returning to action, Nottingham winner Ship Of The Fen remains 6lb higher but drops in class while KNIGHTLY SPIRIT was placed over today’s trip in soft ground at Goodwood in September. Handicapping for the first time on his return, Roger Varian’s colt gets the nod to open his account.
