Sporting Gold went close off today's mark on the all-weather earlier this year but is still 7lb higher than his last winning mark. Flying Power beat WALL STREET BOSS and Poetic Verse in a tight finish at Leicester two weeks ago but James Fanshawe's charge comes out best at the weights today and gets a narrow vote in a competitive opener. Useful jumper Highway Code is lightly-raced on the Flat and could be interesting while Precision Strike is still on a decent mark. Bright Applause is back on a winning mark but Dubai Celebration may be too high in the weights now.
