        Verdict

        A number of these hold solid claims but Dissident is holding his form well and edges a narrow verdict over Mexican Pete, Mr Lear and Jeepstar, who are hard to split on the bits of form that bring them together. However, Astrocharm also arrives here with his confidence boosted after winning at Newmarket and is sure to attract plenty of interest now that he has proved himself over the trip. It would be dangerous to read too much into his performance at headquarters though as the pace was not a strong one and he looks vulnerable in this company. Mr Lear comes here after a spell over hurdles and, like Mexican Pete, will not go down without a fight. Even so, Dissident has done very little wrong of late and he may have too much resilience for them all now that he is send back over his right trip.
