Verdict

The very consistent Ricky Langford was engaged in the 4.40 at Clonmel yesterday. Benefit Run might have won at Sligo but for a last-fence fall and could have been feeling the effects at Listowel. Ingleby Mackenzie also fell at the last in that Sligo event when just in front while Bentham has been running well enough to get into contention. Weihnachts completed a double in very testing conditions in the spring so some rain would aid his cause though he was a long way behind ESPION DU CHENET at Naas in December and Louise Lyons' consistent performer, who also won at Killarney in August, can get back on the winning trail.
