In depth

Verdict

This may be on the short side but Hillary John, who won a maiden point at Necarne last month, is a brother to winning hurdler Game On and could be a nice prospect. Montauk Flyer wasn’t beaten far in a handicap at Wexford last time but Touch Base was a disappointing favourite at Ballinrobe having gone close at Tramore earlier. FIRST CLASS TICKET has been placed in four of his six starts over hurdles. The 3m at Tipperary last month was almost certainly too far and Andrew McNamara’s charge deserves another chance. Shoulda Lied ran nine times on the Flat for Willie Mullins and was placed on three occasions but it’s strange that it is only now he’s sent hurdling.
