Verdict

REDCLUE (NAP) is rated 116 over hurdles after winning at Navan in November and reverted to fences on his reappearance over the track and trip last week on 39lb lower. Not surprisingly he was well supported and beat today's rivals Camillas Wish and The Baler comfortably and though hit with a massive 15lb rise still looks well treated. The latter pair should certainly get closer on these terms, especially The Baler who was having his first start since 2014, though it's Lash It On who may cause the most problems. Charles Byrnes' 10-year-old has won over the course and distance and ran his best race for a long time when runner-up at Killarney on Sunday.
