In depth

Verdict

Captain Carleton was beaten 13 lengths by Mysticaltou in a maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan but easily reversed that form when landing a handicap at Cork in October. He should go well though he's never raced below two miles in his career. Emiest Rose had Seeking Truth and Robin's Choice just behind when runner-up in a similar event here last month but Seeking Truth didn't get the best of runs and is taken to reverse the form. Robin's Choice had Annie Irish behind here in November but the latter will be better suited by this trip and can do better but in a moderate maiden a chance is taken on Andy Oliver's newcomer PIRATE'S PENNY, a son of Duke Of Marmalade out of a useful sprinter.
