In depth

Verdict

AKASAKA won a claimer here last year when rated 98 and hasn't scored since which is why he's now 10lb lower. His best recent run was when runner-up at the Curragh in July and he's very well treated by the race conditions so should take this. Whaileyy looks the main threat as he won twice for Marco Botti over 6f at Kempton and gave notice of an imminent victory in minor company when a close fifth behind Captain Joy over the track and trip last month. He may even have won with a clear run so should get into the frame. Dashwood is having his first start on this track but won three times on the surface when trained in the UK. He's shown plenty of potential for new connections and can make his presence felt. Six Silver Lane won twice here in the spring and, though having a bit to find at these weights, hails from a yard who know how to get one ready. 6.45
