In depth

Verdict

After three very good runs in maidens here, Tracey Collins sent Almoner to Kempton for a similar contest and she duly obliged in very good style but looks to have plenty to do on her handicap debut. Having won over the track and trip in December, Lily's Prince has continued in excellent form though he's now 12lb higher than that victory. Guanabara Bay went close on several occasions in the UK without winning before signalling an imminent victory with a close second here last month. He went one better last week, despite not getting the best of runs, and looks certain to give a good account. The Lords Walk stayed on strongly over a mile when making his handicap debut last week so a strong pace will be required but a tentative vote goes to COMPLICIT. Jonny Levins' charge, five times a winner on the all-weather, has been confined to the minimum trip recently and now racing over a more suitable distance can show his true worth. The first reserve Arbourfield gained his third victory over the course last month and went up 5lb which appeared to just anchor him a fortnight later.
