In depth

Verdict

MONARCH OF EGYPT, beaten less than a length by Siskin in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh in August, hasn't quite lived up to that form subsequently but his second in the Jersey Stakes was a very good effort and should be good enough for this. Siamese was an easy winner over 7f here in September but was beaten in two handicaps at the Curragh last month while the selection's stable companion Nobel Prize was a long way behind another from the yard, Santiago, in the Queen's Vase. Indicative Vote takes a big step up in grade after winning a Roscommon maiden but Dalvey ran much better than expected when staying on strongly over a mile in a Leopardstown Group 3. Choice Of Mine has won around here but didn't enjoy fast ground when finishing last in a Curragh Group 3 last month.
