In depth

Verdict

Poitin and Sharjah have both won from much higher marks over the track and trip and the latter ran a bit better last time though was 9l behind CHAPARRAL DREAM. Ado McGuinness' charge was gaining his first success on his 18th start but had signalled an imminent victory on his previous outing and will take some beating despite a 9lb rise in the weights. Dream Focus has only had five starts, all on Turf, and returns after a long break while most of the remainder are badly out of form and Ringo Kid, who didn't perform badly on his return to action last week, was in action between the flags last spring.
