Denny Crane won this a year ago but is now 3lb higher and hasn't scored subsequently. Paddy The Celeb was having only his second start on the surface when scoring here last month but that was over 1m4f and he seems best at that trip. Brassbound also won over that trip on his handicap debut a fortnight ago and though the assessor has taken no chances with an 8lb rise he has to be on the short-list along with Night Glimmer, who likes it around here. Iron Major is another to consider as he's won from just 1lb lower over the C&D but a chance is taken with ANSGAR, who hasn't had much racing but produced a superb run in a huge field at the Curragh last month and is capable of further progress.
