Je T'ai Porte scored over the course and distance in November and made a bold bid to lead all over 1m4f a fortnight ago, only caught in the closing stages by John Alexander. Burren Song was a close third but like fourth-placed Whatharm appeared to have had every chance. HALCYON SPIRIT, a track and trip winner under today's rider last month, ran very well from a wide draw three weeks ago and should give another good account so gets the nod. Havana Pearl stepped up to the trip for the first time last week and came home strongly for a comfortable success. She hasn't had much racing and a 9lb rise is unlikely to prevent another big effort while the lightly-raced Roman Bull ran very well after a break three weeks ago.
