In depth

Verdict

Connacht Council had her first three runs on this surface a year ago, running well in the last of them, and was very consistent in handicaps on Turf during the summer. Tony Carroll sends Ocean Legend over from Worcester and he isn't known for wasting journeys though the nine-year-old has been beaten in sellers and claimers recently. Cheers Buddy won twice over a mile here at the backend of last year but didn't quite have the pace to match Hilary from his higher mark three weeks ago. Victor's Beach had Reckless Lad and Blue Bullet behind early last month but has been unable to cope with a subsequent weight rise and a longer trip. AMAZING STAR was sent to Wolverhampton by his very shrewd connections to land what looked a competitive low-grade handicap. He was very well supported and as he's only been raised 3lb a follow-up looks likely.
