Verdict

Aidan O'Brien has won five of the last six, the latest two with ST NICHOLAS ABBEY, who will once again be a very short-priced favourite. He showed himself as good as ever with a victory in the Dubai Sheema Classic and obviously loves the twists and turns of this track. Dunaden, the 2011 Melbourne Cup winner, was almost 5l behind in that Meydan Group 1 and has since been beaten at Longchamp but with stamina likely to come into play here he's no forlorn hope to turn the tables on the selection. Joshua Tree is a high-class performer who has twice won the Group 1 Canadian International at Woodbine so shouldn't be dismissed but the handicapper Chapter Seven faces a huge task and Chamonix is here to ensure a good gallop for St Nicholas Abbey.
