Ashpan Sam won this in 2014 and 2015 while Blaine scored a year later. Both are now veterans and have plenty to do but Lake Volta has won at Listed level on the track and arrives in top form having landed a Goodwood handicap at this level last week. Manshood found Class 5 company to his liking at Wetherby and this is much tougher and SPANISH CITY only just failed to hold on over 7f at Newmarket. Roger Varian's charge rarely runs over this trip nowadays but has enough speed to get into contention and it will be a surprise if he's not thereabouts at the finish. Watchable looks a threat as he's been in fine form though he's been beaten twice in the race previously. Gabrial The Devil was engaged in the 5.50 here yesterday.
