Verdict

Candelisa is an interesting northern raider on overall form but came home last of seven on his sole try at this trip last time, although not beaten far. He ties in closely with fellow northern representative Stamp Hill on Pontefract running in May over six furlongs on similar terms but the Fahey raider looked unlucky last time at Goodwood when stepped up to this trip for the first time and looks a safer option. Happy Call is a paragon of consistency and highly respected but is another unproven on the ground - and also this new trip. He should go well though for his in-form yard but the one who could really progress on his seasonal reappearance is HARRY CHAMPION. He's also unproven on the ground but stays the trip well, his yard is in top form and he receives a nice amount of weight all round, especially when the claim of the excellent Josephine Gordon is taken into account. Storm Rising should also go well in an open finale.
