Ashpan Sam has won the last two renewals and though making his seasonal debut this time, an apprentice’s claim allows him to race off a lower mark than last year. Arctic Feeling won this in 2013 but has struggled since winning at Beverley in April and GHALIB is preferred. The latter was caught in the closing stages over 7f at Newmarket on his reappearance but Ed Walker’s charge is fancied to go one better back over 6f today. Shared Equity and Perfect Pasture are others likely to appreciate the drop back in trip but Zanetto makes more appeal on his recent fourth at York. Iseemist and George Bowen look high enough in the weights and Boomerang Bob is best on the all-weather but Barracuda Boy could go well.
