        Verdict

        SHAWWAL never troubled the winner at Chelmsford on his debut but will know more here and the extra distance may well suit John Gosden’s charge. Sallab finished a length or so ahead of Font Vert over 7f at Sandown and is another likely improver along with stablemate Cheeky Rascal. Doublet cost 130,000 euros and may prove best of the newcomers ahead of The Naughty Step and Tiny Tempest.
