Verdict
MAHER is nominated in this contest with Book Keeper and Memorabilia the others to keep an eye on. David Simcock's stable have been in good form and this colt belied odds of 33/1 to be third in a decent Newmarket event. Book Keeper is a half-brother to a number of listed winners overseas. He presently holds an entry in the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy so would be needing to win this to book his ticket. Memorabilia was third at Doncaster on his second start and delivered a performance that suggested himself to be very much on the improve. Chain Lightning was too green to do himself justice on debut and should do better tonight. Cuban Quality has a pedigree that suggests we will be hearing more about him next season over middle distances. Maher has the best form on the board and we believe he sets a stiff standard as a consequence.
