Not a bad contest for it's class and one where VIOLENT VELOCITY is taken to edge it over Summer Dancer, while Tuxedo is among others considered. Peter Hiatt-trained Tuxedo is 5lbs higher than when tonight's pilot Darryll Holland steered him to success at Yarmouth over this trip last month and he will be very competitive here. Summer Dancer may be even more so after justifying favouritism to make a late play in winning at Musselburgh, for which he carries a 6lb penalty. Even so, his winning margin could have been greater there and he looks a big threat. Azure Mist is tricky to win with, but Mark Tompkins' filly is on the same mark as her only success, which came on the Polytrack, and she can be taken on. Napoletano has run well here but appears to prefer either Lingfield or Brighton, and we will turn our attentions to Violent Velocity. John Quinn's six-year-old was a ready scorer at Newcastle over this trip, for which the assessor has put him up just 4lbs. He acts well on a sound surface and we think he can repeat the dose.
