      Verdict

      DATA PROTECTION came again to beat Rampant Lion over course and distance at the start of the month. A 3lb looks fair for Bill Muir’s four-year-old, who clearly likes this unconventional track. It’s difficult to know what to make of Plunger’s victory on the all-weather track at Deauville and he’s never won over a trip this far. Angel's Whisper was bumped up 11lb for winning at Newmarket in June and couldn’t cope on a return visit but Hackle Setter won here last year and has slipped down the ratings this season with Poppy Bridgwater’s claim a further plus.
