      Verdict

      King's Pavilion has yet to finish out of the frame. He is the form choice here but is more exposed than his rivals and, like most, encountering genuine soft ground for the first time. Steel of Madrid made a winning debut at Salisbury then only found Hawkbill a head too good at Kempton. Kingston Kurrajong has been in good form at Chester recently while Theydon Grey isn't yet the finished article judging by his run at Newmarket on Thursday. THANKSFORTELLINGME ploughed through the mud at Goodwood to make a winning start. He beat a useful maiden that day and can take this step up in grade in his stride.
