Verdict
Captain Haddock is 3lb lower than when landing this 12 months ago under Henry Main but has been badly out of sorts this year. Heart Of Soul completed a double in the spring but was behind Restorer at Chester last month. The latter also finished ahead of MASCAT here in June but Joe Tizzard’s charge has been in good form over hurdles since and a repeat of his run in the Great Metropolitan here in April would be good enough for this. Fast Steps won’t be far away if he stays this longer trip and Saratoga Gold has won at Goodwood and Newbury this term. Thibault also make some appeal at the foot of the weights while Sarvan and Way Of Life are partnered by leading amateurs.
