Verdict

EXTRA MAG looked to be in control at Doncaster on his hurdling debut when stumbling and unseating Tom Scudamore after jumping the past. The eventual second has won since to frank the form and David Pipe’s runner will likely be a short price to gain compensation. Rock Steady, a winner on the Flat, has shown promise in a couple of runs at Ascot and looks the type to win a handicap this winter. Press Gang was often placed on the level but will need to improve on a modest debut over timber but Precious Bounty was only beaten a neck at Leicester and will handle today’s easier surface.
