In depth

Verdict

The market will invariably be essential in this contest, however as it stands the nod goes to Imminent Victory ahead of President Royal and newcomers Pour Ellie and The Sportsman. The selection holds the best form on show, after finishing a close second to Kid Charlemagne at Towcester a month ago. He ran a bit green on that, his debut, and can use the experience gained that day to win today. President Royal represents a powerful stable, however that one disappointed last time out and will have to show much improved form to trouble the selection today. Pour Ellie was a fairly expensive purchase and could easily be up to taking this event, whilst The Sportsman will hope to go better than his namesake paper. At a bigger price, Carl Llewellyn rides one of his own horses in Quartano and so that one should be watched in the market. However, Imminent Victory has the experience and gets the nod.
