In depth

Verdict

Donald McCain rarely sends runners this far without good reason and it will be a surprise if his filly BAHIRA can't add to recent wins at Catterick and Sedgefield, though she was beaten on a previous foray into the West Country at Taunton in March. Fairy Trader and Romany Quest have hinted at ability while Cider Lolly was third at Fakenham last month. But more interesting are the Paul Webber debutants Dirty Bertie and Quotidian, with the former being by Dream Well out of a winning stayer in France.
