Verdict
Some interesting types for notebook reference can be led home by Oasis Banus, who represents the all conquering Martin Pipe in the finale. Joke Club and Reach For The Top are others to take note of in the betting market, while Retro's Girl is also of interest as she receives a handy concession at the weights today. Joke Club represents a yard that do well in this area of racing and he is respected accordingly, whereas Reach For The Top represents Gold Cup-winning owner Jim Lewis and it is safe to assume that a race can be found for him in time. However, Pipe and his team at Pond House are really on the crest of a wave present and as Oasis Banus - another David Johnson-owned contender - has a fair amount of speed in his pedigree he can make an impact at this sort of level before going on to better things in the not too distant future.
