    In depth

    Verdict

Manawanui, September Moon and The Rising Moon look the three to concentrate on here with the vote going to Manawanui. The selection was a fair fifth off this mark when last seen behind Penny Park, that form looks rock solid in the context of this race and if he is fit enough to do himself justice after a 164 day absence he will be hard to beat. September Moon rates the main danger on his best form but he gave the impression the handicapper had caught up with him when fourth behind Kivitos last time and as he has yet to win over a trip this far he looks worth taking on. The Rising Moon is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he looks weighted up to his best. Of the remainder Cociembe has the ability to go close but has not progressed as expected and for the winner we return to Manawanui.
