Verdict
Another very open contest where we pit against the field, Comanche War Paint, Mister One and Twisted Logic, with the last named getting the vote. Robert Alner's gelding hit form this time last year and hinted that his time was close when running a gallant third behind Ballybrophy at Chepstow last time. That was over an inadequate trip and he will be much more at home over this extreme distance. Comanche War Paint beat Zafarabad at Wincanton in November, but found the soft ground against him last time. With conditions in his favour today he should make a bold bid. Mister One could be the main threat to the selection having chased home Exit Swinger and Royal Auclair in a listed race at Wincanton last time. One word of caution, he does tend to throw in the odd stinker, with that in mind we are swayed towards Twisted Logic
