Verdict
The Paul Nicholls-trained Le Jaguar is interesting on his debut in a handicap having stayed this trip well enough last time but the five-year-old has yet to convince with his jumping and preference is for Brave Spirit, who gets the vote over All In The Stars. The last mentioned has been in good form, winning twice at Plumpton before finding just the useful Cornish Rebel too good at Cheltenham last time. A further 9lbs rise since then looks a shade harsh for Paul Keane's gelding though and it may be that Brave Spirit is still ahead of the handicapper. Colin Tizzard's gelding has won five of his last six starts, latterly when staying on well to beat Levallios by a length-and-a-quarter at Taunton. A 9lb rise for that latest success leaves him with more to do but the seven-year-old is clearly progressing well and is hard to oppose in his current form. Martin Pipe's Headliner looked an awkward ride last time and is probably best watched at present, while both Bee An Bee and Twisted Logic have been largely disappointing this term. Kittenkat has to race from 3lbs out of the weights proper and a safer bet looks to be the in-form Brave Spirit, who gets the vote.
