In depth

Verdict

Portrush Ted was out of his depth in the Long Walk at Ascot last time but had beaten subsequent winner Storm Arising previously at Sandown. ASK DILLON was second to the latter at Chepstow, with Perfect Man behind, but conceding 7lb. Fergal O’Brien’s stayer is in the form of his life and deserves a change of luck. Brinkley put a disappointing reappearance here behind him when bolting up at Wincanton but has been hit by a 10lb hike in the ratings. Last year’s Stayers’ Hurdle winner Lisnagar Oscar has had wind surgery and will be gearing up for defence of his crown but it would be no surprise to see Burrows Park figure back over the smaller obstacles and Agrapart is not without a chance having switched stables. Southfield Harvest also goes on the shortlist back over 3m while Does He Know steps out of the novice ranks and tries this trip for the first time under Rules.
