Verdict
The Paul Nicholls-trained Irbee landed his first race since October 2000 when beating Mighty Moss by a cosy five lengths at Plumpton last week. The runner-up looked in need of the outing that day though so the form may not be as good as it first appears and the son of Gunner B is probably best left alone. Aller Moor and Guy Landau's Paddy For Paddy both have recent successes in similar company to their names and have to be respected along with Fred Hutsby's Bold Tactics, who is entitled to finish closer to the Landau horse here. However, it is impossible to oppose Macgeorge, who's career has been revitalised by running in hunter chase company this term. Unchallenged when winning races at Hereford and Warwick on his last two starts, Richard Lee's gelding has a double penalty to shoulder but such is his current form that he has to be the selection.
