Verdict
Perkys Pride, three times a winner in Ireland, has failed to sparkle in four starts for Martin Pipe and while it would come as no surprise to see him return to winning ways there has been little sign of encouragement so far. A market move would be interesting though. Stablemate Tango Royal has also disappointed since joining the Pipe yard and, although dropping in the weights, remains one to watch rather than bet on. Topweight Bohill Lad will be suited by any further drying of the ground but has been below par of late and is difficult to recommend along with the Paul Nicholls-trained Robyn Alexander, who has looked badly treated in two starts in handicap company since his novice hurdle success. The hat-trick seeking Laurel Prince is 20lbs higher than when landing the first of those two races and may now be in the grip of the handicapper. Quabmatic was all out to beat Charlies Future at Taunton last month and may struggle to follow up off a 7lb higher mark so the vote goes to Nemisto. Richard Lee's gelding looked in need of the run, after a two month break, when down the field behind Coquelles at Hereford last month but is well treated on earlier form and looks worth a bet at forecast odds.
